Pitches and Submissions

Prompted is always open to pitches from writers with something to say about the creative process, creative routines, creativity, or really anything mildly writing-related — including reported pieces and interviews. Got something a little offbeat and weird? Awesome.

Send pitches to stephcoelhowrites@gmail.com and include "Prompted Pitch" in the subject line.

Need help crafting a pitch? Check out Tim Herrera's guide on how to stop pitching ideas and start pitching stories.

I'm also always open to reading and considering fiction, creative non-fiction, poetry, and hybrid form submissions inspired by prompts featured in the newsletter.

Use this form to submit creative pieces for consideration.

Rates start at 25 cents per word.

Keeping in the spirit of digestibility, I’m ideally looking for pieces that are 500 words or less. But, I'm not totally opposed to considering long-form pieces.

Keep in mind that Prompted is run and funded by just one person (me!), so I might be slow to respond and I can’t commission everything that comes through my inbox. But I will read and respond to every pitch or submission. Has it been more than a month since you got in touch? Feel free to bug me again with a follow-up.

Please note that I have a very strict no-AI policy. If you're into that sort of thing, this might not be the place for you. Prompted is all about creativity, after all.
